November 1, 2017 (Toronto, ON) – A presenting sponsor, Dream Insurance Brokers proudly presented an award to Toronto City Councillor Michael Thompson during the 2017 Afroglobal Excellence Awards on October 21^st 2017. The CEO of Dream Insurance Brokers, Gavin Douglas, bestowed Thompson with the recognition at The International Centre in Mississauga, Ontario.

A Toronto City Councilman representing Ward 37 (Scarborough Centre), and the current Vice Chair of the Toronto Police Services Board, Thompson was the winner of the Marcus Garvey Memorial Award for 2017 in acknowledgement of his reputation as a community-focused consensus builder and one of Toronto’s hardest working Councillors.
